Senior Lecturer, MIT Sloan School of Management

Erin Scott is a Senior Lecturer in Technological Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Strategic Management at the MIT Sloan School of Management. Her work focuses on uncertainty and strategic development in early-stage ventures. She has evaluated and consulted for start-ups, primarily in the medical device and biotechnology sectors, for over a decade.

Scott completed a postdoctoral fellowship in the National Bureau of Economic Research’s Innovation Policy and the Economy Group. A recipient of the Kauffman Dissertation Fellowship, she earned her Ph.D. in Strategy from Washington University in St. Louis. She also holds an MBA-MS and BE in Biomedical Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis and Vanderbilt University, respectively.
